100 x 100 cm, Acrylic on Canvas, 2024
Bright, clashing colors and pinstripes inviting us to inspect their deeper meaning.
Pinstripes, usually reserved for human fashion or classic racecars, take on a new role when applied to horses. Could our preference for “plain” or earthy-toned horses stem from a desire for simplicity and connection to their primal nature? Yet, isn’t there beauty in the unexpected – a blend of strength and vulnerability?
This invites us to embrace diversity and celebrate the chaos and order of life on a different plane.
Perhaps it’s our own biases that limit our appreciation of these “equine artworks.” By welcoming the unconventional, we open ourselves to emotions and perspectives we never imagined.
So, let’s not dismiss those “weird stripes.” They remind us that beauty isn’t just in the eye of the beholder—it’s woven into existence itself.
