Artist Statement
I am a multi-media artist.
I capture the essence of an animal's face and the identity of the animal species in simple lines. The process originated with paintings of flat nosed dogs. The paintings then reduced to only bold lines and other animals joined the series.
When I travel, I often carry a painting kit and sketch pad to create watercolors of the towns and regions I see. Watercolors quickly capture the beauty and essence of a place.
My oil paintings depend on color. The backgrounds in the paintings have patterns and shapes to capture a mood or emotion.
I create street art using an illustrator program before cutting with a 3D printer to get an exact fitted stencil. I use these stencils along with spray paint to cover various surfaces.
